i keep trying to update, but it never ends up happening. like right now, pete was on the phone for awhile so i thought i'd write something, and then as soon as i get the screen up he's saying good bye. but i'm still going to blog, because why not? and pete can entertain himself for a little while. he just cleaned up some kitty puke, so that's good.
tabby is a great cat, very soft and loveable, but likes to throw up. especially on the couch. how fun is that?
but anyway, sorry i haven't had a post in a while. i don't know why, just haven't really. life is busy, ya know?
but things have been pretty good. pete and i have been married for three months, and it seems to be sticking. i finished my surgery rotation before christmas. that was pretty fun, just busy. christmas vaca was pretty good, we did a lot of traveling around. connecticut, mass, brooklyn...it was good to see everybody.
i just started pediatrics last week, and it's pretty awesome. the kids are great, it's a lot of fun. it's a six week rotation, and the first three weeks are at a private practice, and the second half at the hospital. so i've been having fun working at the office. it's nice having the basic 9-5 schedule for a little while. but i still get so tired its hard to study when i get home, and it's only going to get worse when i'm on inpatient. oh well.
so also, pete's getting a new truck! well, actually he's getting a really old truck, but you know...he's been feeling like he needs one for work, so he can bring all his tools with him everywhere. you can fit a lot into a saturn wagon, but just not everything. and who wants to be out and then suddenly realize you could totally use your router but there just wasn't enough room for it in the moring? i mean, that can just ruin you day. so a friend of pete's family got a new truck and is selling his '96 ford f150 with an inline six (dad, i'm making the inline six motion with my hands right now). and apparently it is full of rusty holes. so we're also taking out stock in bondo.
this weekend we're going to pick up the new polka-dotted truck, and then taking it for a test drive out to maine so that pete can pick up more tools (you can always use more tools. if i've learned one thing in the past three months it's this...) from his lovely grandparents. they are moving to an apartment soon, so the glorious workshop full of woodworking tools that his grandfather has collected over the years needs to be dismantled. and i was just saying it was too bad we didn't have a jointer...or a planer...or a radial arm saw....or a lathe....or a chop saw....
but anyway, we'll bring back what we can to syracuse, and probably leave some in pete's parents' attic until we have a glorious workshop we can fill with woodworking tools. and it's all very beautiful too, passing on family tradition and heirlooms blah blah blah.
so there you go, our life. i also seriously need to get organized in my life. i haven't even uploaded the photos from the honeymoon on my computer. now that's just sad. well, someday, probably this year but can't count on it, i'll upload some photos from the honeymoon and of our apartment and our first christmas, and then i'll show you guys them. but don't hold your breath. it's bad for your health. trust me, i'm going to be a doctor in a year and a half.
whoa scary! crazy how time flies, huh? well, i feel i should leave you on that sobering note.
